Reflection Post on Mise-en-scene for 'First Draft' of Music Video

After studying and reflecting on the first draft of my music video long and hard, I have decided that I am going to change Amelia's costume throughout the video, in the dancing scenes - in order to make it more conventional. After doing some further research into existing music videos, I noticed that a lot of the time costume changes take place. Therefore, I have decided to incorporate this idea into my video.

First Costume:

I am going to keep the first costume the same as I feel it represents perfectly the theme of 'magic' within the narrative. As the relationship is passionate with a strong spark of love between the couple at the beginning, this costume represents how much magic and love is in Amelia - a great amount; represented with how sparkly the costume is.

Second Costume:

For the next costume, I have decided to use this white one, as the silver sparkles on the top right of her shoulder, again, portray a sense of magic. However, as the costume is not as sparkly as the first one, it signals the fact that the relationship is starting to break down, as Amelia now has less magic and love within her.

Third Costume:

For the final costume of the music video, I have decided to dress Amelia in this black all in one. As the costume is plain, dull and has no sparkles on it, I feel that it portrays the fact that there is no love and magic left in the relationship; sadly it has broken down and they have gone their separate ways - leaving Amelia alone and heartbroken.
